What is the story behind Ceramica de Meles?

Ceramica de Meles is a California-based design studio focused on creating simple, functional, and enduring ceramic pieces. Our products are designed in California and handcrafted in Portugal by skilled artisans, combining modern design with traditional craftsmanship.

Where are your pieces made?

All production happens in Portugal, in small artisan workshops with deep knowledge of clay and glaze.

What does “handmade” really mean?

No two pieces are identical. Variations in color, texture, or finish are natural. they’re part of the story, not a flaw.

Products & Specifications

Are your ceramics food-safe?

Yes. Every piece intended for everyday use is glazed and safe for food contact.

Can I use them in the microwave or oven?

Microwave usage is safe for all items. Oven use is only recommended on pieces marked “oven-safe.” Avoid sudden temperature shifts.

Are they dishwasher safe?

Yes, all of our ceramics are dishwasher safe and made for everyday use — both at home and in busy café settings. No special cycle needed.

Ordering & Payment

How do I place an order?

Pick your piece, add to cart, complete checkout. We’ll confirm your order by email and notify you when it ships.

Which payment methods do you accept?

We offer secure options, credit/debit cards, PayPal, and region-specific payment methods (depending on your country).

Can I change or cancel my order?

If your order hasn’t shipped yet, yes. Contact us immediately and we’ll do our best to help.

Do you offer gift cards or discount codes?

Yes. Gift cards are redeemable online. Promo codes can be entered at checkout (conditions may apply).

Shipping & Delivery

How long will delivery take?

Delivery times depend on your location — you’ll see an estimate during checkout. Once your parcel is sent, we’ll share tracking details.

Which countries do you ship to?

We currently ship within the United States from our U.S. warehouse. For international orders, please contact our team — we’ll do our best to assist you.

Can I change the delivery address after ordering?

If the parcel hasn’t been dispatched yet yes. Contact us ASAP with your new address.

Will my order arrive in one package?

We aim to consolidate orders, but for large or heavy items, we may send multiple parcels. You’ll get tracking info for each.

Returns & Damage

What if my order arrives damaged or incomplete?

Send us photos plus your order number as soon as you can. We’ll replace or refund the affected items.

Can I return or exchange something if I change my mind?

Yes within 30 days, for items in original, unused condition. Return shipping costs are on you, unless the item is faulty.

What if the piece looks different from my expectations (color, glaze variation)?

Because every item is handmade, slight differences are expected. But if there’s a defect beyond that, contact us and we’ll make it right.
